Real Madrid are willing to wait for top target William Saliba’s contract to run out in 2027 as they aim to sign the Frenchman for free.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Los Blancos are believed to be huge fans of Saliba, with reports suggesting the club have tracked the 24-year-old since his days at Saint-Etienne. The player joined Arsenal in 2019, but Madrid have cultivated an ongoing relationship with Saliba’s inner circle.
A summer move is highly unlikely. Saliba is under contract until 2027, and Arsenal will probably pursue a renewal before the 25/26 season. It is believed Madrid will make a bid in 2026, or will pursue a free transfer if the centre back doesn’t put pen to paper in North London.
